With the rain falling during the night and morning, I did not want to get up. But I thought of my aerobics instructor having to get up every day, so I got up and put on my swimsuit. I was glad to see some friends I had not seen for a couple weeks. Of course, we talked all through class but it makes the time go by quickly.
I did a little cleaning in the kitchen. Then I began to work on some documents for the church directory we are trying complete at church. I formatted a information form and then the pages. I took them to church tonight so I could get some feed back from the ladies. Everyone is excited to get this project going again. JoAnne and I are going to begin taking pictures and information this Sunday. We hope to get them completed by Thanksgiving. Lots of work to go.
I am going to have to start taking some pictures to add to the blog. Maybe tomorrow...
May God bless you and yours.

Therapy day...
On Tuesday, I go to art class or as we sometimes called it "group therapy". I started this class after I retired. It was something I had tried in the past and wanted to try again. I may not be very good at it but it is fun and relaxing. I have also made some really good friends. My teacher is very remarkable. She is 80 years old and teaches art, bowls, and square dances. And has the patience of a saint. Today, I started a new painting that may be a gift for someone or maybe the next one. I had two pictures that I really want to paint, but I forgot my new canvas. Sometimes I think I need a keeper. Ms. Pat helped me out and the painting got started. I will show you a picture when it is completed.
Then sweet Penny came by to help me with some grooming issues with my cat, Pearl. She seems to be doing better tonight. Thanks for your help.
I was hoping we would get more rain here but maybe tomorrow. Please help me pray for a dear friend and her family.

Labor Day but no laboring this year...
My children used to complain to their Dad about why did they have to labor on Labor Day. They wanted to go play like other families but he always had a job that needed to be done. I am sure they would love to be laboring with him today.
I had some delicious hamburgers at Momma and Daddy's for lunch. Momma continues to improve each day. I left shortly after lunch because Daddy had already started his nap in the lawn chair outside and Momma was not far behind in the recliner.
I then went down to the in-laws' to finalize the plans for our vacation. In about 2 weeks, we are headed to Denver, Colorado. My sister-in-law, Vickie, my in-laws, and myself are flying to Denver and then continuing on to Glenwood Springs. We are going to spend the week and go of side trips each day. MawMaw and PawPaw have traveled to Colorado for several summers to camp in the mountains, but they always came home before the aspens turned colors. MawMaw wants to go see if we can see them. They also want to show me and Vickie some of the places we have heard some much about. I can hardly wait, we are going to have so much fun.
MawMaw made me a blackberry cobbler from some berries I picked earlier in the summer. After going to Leola for ice cream, we had dessert for supper. It was wonderful!!!

Beautiful Sunday!
I had slow Saturday. My grandcat, Leo, went to his mom's new home. He has been visiting us for a couple of weeks. Jamie made a flying trip in to get him and some of her belongings.
Then I went to Malvern to have dinner with my long time friends, Sandra and Raymond. Raymond and my husband met when they were in Officers Canidate School in the National Guard. We became close friends and my Mother-in-law calls him her other son. I had not seen them for several months but it felt like it had only been a few days. Sandra's mother is in the nursing home and has several health problems, please remember her family in your prayers. We had dinner at a local mexican resturant. Then we went to the a local park at the river. It was nice to be able to walk along the river and enjoy the cooler weather. We drove around and saw 18 deer in a very small area. I hope it is not as long before I get to see them again.
Went to church this morning and Momma was able to attend preaching. Everyone was glad to see her back in her regular place. I was planning to attend a baseball game with Jamie but plans changed and I got a long nap. I got to talk to all of the Memphis Ewings except Emma. They all had a great time at the fair on Saturday. The girls enjoyed the rides and Bubby enjoyed the food. They are working on the great Ewing cleanup. It should be finished in time for Charlotte Elizabeth to make her appearance.
Ended the day watching NASCAR racing. Yes, I am a true red-neck girl but I love it.
May God bless and keep you and yours.

I was lazy today...
I did get up and go to water aerobics today, but that is about all I did.
And I cooked lunch which is really unusual for me...I made meatloaf muffins. It was a very good lunch and I was ready for a nap afterwards.
Got to talk to son and daughter-in-law today. They were going to the high school football game. The weather felt much more like football today than last week. Then tomorrow the family is going to fair in Memphis. My granddaughter, Emma, is very excited. She loves the rides. I hope they all have fun.
This what retirement is all about, doing what you want, when you want.

Phone calls...
I had several phone calls that needed to be made today. So I started this morning and got them completed tonight. I called doctor, train depot in Colorado, and Directv.
Daddy and I went to Wal-Mart to buy his groceries. We had to make a side trip to Sonic because I can not pass up happy hour. So we brought Meme a treat of a junior sundae for being a good girl while we were gone.
It looked like rain all day but only got a few drops. But we should have some cooler weather this week-end. I have hardly wait.
Not a very exciting day...just another day of retirement. Loving it.

Try again...
I thought I would give this another try.
I slept in too late to make it to water aeorbics so my morning was a little slow. Then I finally gave in to my graving and went to get Chinese food for lunch. Afterwards, I stopped by Momma and Daddy's to give her a B-12 shot. She is starting to feel better after her stay in the hospital.
Then this afternoon, I went down to MawMaw and PawPaw's. I took her the painting I had completed for her. (This picture was taken just before it was completed.) She was thrilled with it. It is going to be hung over their bed. Then we spent most of the afternoon talking about our trip to Colorado. We get more excited each day.
Then home for TV and supper (I exactly cooked some tonight).
