Random Thoughts.
Yellowstone and Grand Teton
We toured Yellowstone on the afternoon of Thursday and Friday. Saturday, we went to the Tetons and Jackson Hole. All I can say about Jackson Hole is that it is a place for you to spend your money, but I didn't leave any there.

Yellowstone NP
We made to Yellowstone and the first thing we do is wait for road construction. It wasn't too long and we were so excited to be there.
Yes, Grammy is at Yellowstone. I have to read to the map so the other two old folks don't get me lost. I really was more excited than I look.
Old Faithful...faithful as always.

Happy Birthday!!!
Happy Birthday to my precious daughter, Jamie. Momma, Meme, and Granddaddy love you and are sorry we are not there to celebrate with you.
Catch up!!!
I finally have access to the internet. We spent the last 3 nights at Custer State Park and the cell phone service was little or non-existent. This is our spot. It was very pretty and had good facilities.
We went on the Wildlife loop. We saw buffaloes, donkeys and turkeys. I am not very good at this blog stuff but you get the message. We toured Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse on the next day. It was cool and windy at first and then rained on us at Crazy Horse. After some sightseeing, it was laundry time. I will try to add some pictures to the other posts of our campsites.

Days 1 & 2
This is Johnson Lake on the second night.
We left at about 8:30 this morning. The first stop when I was trying to get to the pump for diesel fuel, I side-swiped the poles that protects the pumps. Not once, but twice. It actually looks worse than it is. The rest of the day went pretty smooth. We landed at Johnson Lake State Park, close to Lexington, Nebraska. We are on to Custer State Park, ND tomorrow.

Here we go!!!!!
Well, tomorrow is the big day. We are off on our great adventure. I am sure we have more stuff than we will ever use, but Meme has a Wal-mart list ready for the first available store. Daddy and I had a few issues with the trailer today but by the end of the trip we will be experts at the Trailmanor camper. I had better get to bed because the day begins at 5:00 AM.

Grammy's Pride and Joy

These some of the main reasons I keeping going. Meet Emma Grace (2 2/3) and James Elliot (2/3) or as they are also known, Emmy and Bubby. They were visiting from TN this week-end for their great-grandparents' 60th wedding anniversay. We had a good time with all the relatives in the Ewing family. Emmy likes for us to be "Ewings all together".

Wal-Mart Shopping
I now remember that you should not go shopping at Wal-Mart on Sunday afternoon. Momma, Daddy, and I went to Bryant to shop for the remaining items on our vacation list. It was crazy. I think everyone in Saline and Grant counties were there. Well, after fighting with the crowd for about an hour, we decide we either did not need the other items or we could get them later. We then went to Cracker Barrel for lunch. It is time to get ready for a short week of work, but we all know that I will not worth anything at work this week.

Mellen's Camper
This is me and my camper. I just love it. It is just right for me, but it may get a little small over 2 weeks with 3 adults and a dog. We will be spending a lot of time outside but that is what camping is all about. We will be traveling 3 days and then spend 3 days at Custer State Park to view Mt. Rushmore and other sites. Then a little more traveling to get to Yellowstone and Grand Teton Park.
Welcome
I am creating this blog to include my family and friends in my adventure. Next week my parents and I will begin a trip to Yellowstone National Park. I have been complaining for sometime that everyone but me had been to Yellowstone. So this summer, we began planning our trip. My parents are very excited to making this trip again. They have previously taken my childern, Talmadge and Jamie and others, but now they are taking their baby. I say baby because as an only child, I will always be their baby. We are also taking Sadie, the newest member of the family. Sadie is a large mutt. She is beautiful but a little rough around the edges. Check back later and I will have more details of the trip.
